What Is Reformers Unanimous?
Reformers Unanimous is a revolutionary addiction recovery program developed from over a decade of experience working with hundreds of thousands of addicts through local churches. Renowned addiction experts Steve Curington, and Dr. Paul Kingsbury have produced a program that uses a unique spiritual approach to develop lifelong sobriety. If you have tried everything else, and are looking for something that “just works” then this program is for you. To best understand what the ministry of Reformer Unanimous is all about, let us first take a look at the life of its Founder and President, Steven Curington.
The Steve Curington Story
Steve Curington grew up in a wonderful Christian home and attended a strong Christian school. Upon graduation, Steve walked away from church and quickly fell into cocaine and alcohol addiction. After serving the world for nearly a decade, Steve was involved in a drunken driving accident that nearly cost him his life. As he lay in a ditch, drowning in his own blood, the lone occupant of a housing development, which was currently under construction, made a life-saving 911 call. Remarkably, this miraculous caller turned out to be the mother of the woman Steve would eventually marry after he got his heart right with God!
While in the hospital recovering from his injuries, a former Sunday School teacher from the church where Steve attended through his childhood, visited him and exhorted him to come back to church. Knowing that a change was desperately needed, Steve heeded his advice and returned to his local church. During the next few years, under the intense guidance of his pastor, Steve witnessed an astonishing recovery from his addictive and destructive behaviors.
Knowing that the Lord had truly performed a miracle in his life, Steve began to council other addicts using the same steps he used to overcome his own addiction during the intense discipleship from his pastor. In a small Bible-study format, Steve immediately experienced success in leading others to freedom over addiction. By this time, Steve had risen to a lucrative career in the petroleum industry. Eventually, however, Steve was led by God to leave his career and go full-time into the ministry. As a result, Steve founded the faith-based addiction program, Reformers Unanimous.
