Stuart Heights Baptist Church offers an Early Education Program to children 12 months through Pre-K, at both our Hixson and Soddy Daisy campuses from 9 am-2 pm, September through mid-May. A child may attend our program at the Soddy Daisy campus on Monday and/or Wednesday or at the Hixson Campus on Tuesday and/or Thursday.

Children may register to regularly attend one or two days a week. Class space is limited and filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. To reserve your child’s placement, a registration form and the $25 registration fee are required. We also offer drop-in attendance, on a space-available basis, to help parents with last minute childcare needs.

Our goal as a Christian Mother’s Day/Early Education Program is to introduce children to the love of God and share Christian values found through the Bible. Our teachers also provide loving care, along with structured teaching and play. Each child will be exposed to age-appropriate number and pre-reading skills, literature, music and Bible stories. All teachers are CPR certified and trained in basic first-aid.

For more information, please contact Dani Vetterick or Natalie Cierley at 423.847.2987 or e-mail earlyeducation@stuartheights.org.

Each classroom uses age-appropriate and theme-based curriculum, which includes quality literature, learning centers and structured playtime. Each thematic unit will build upon pre-reading and pre-math skills, handwriting, comprehension, creative play, problem solving and art. We hope to build an enthusiasm for learning as you child makes friends, develops a positive self-esteem and matures in both fine and gross motor skills.

Our Early Education Program will observe the same major holidays as Hamilton County Department of Education and will follow their snow day/inclement weather closures.

Inclement Weather Policy:

  • If the Hamilton County Department of Education (HCDE) closes for the day due to inclement weather – we are closed.
  • If HCDE is delayed 1 hour – we will start at our REGULAR time.
  • If HCDE is delayed 2 hours or more – we will be closed for the day.
  • If HCDE closes early because of bad weather, please pick up your child as soon as possible.

Even if we do not officially close, please use your best judgement and be safe. We don’t want anyone in a driving situation where they feel unsafe.

You may call the church office at 423.877.2643 or the Early Education Program department at 423.847.2987 to have messages delivered to your child’s teacher if circumstances warrant it.
